Jobs, Skills & Innovation Forum

THURSDAY, May 18, 2017
5:30-8:30 PM
boeing st. louis - prologue room

Presented with support from

The economic growth and competitiveness of the St. Louis region depends upon our ability to attract, retain, train and develop talent - both for existing jobs and for future job growth.

Join us for our next FOCUS policy forum, as we explore the topic of workforce development. We'll look at an overview current employment statistics and labor projections, how they compare nationwide and the opportunities and challenges for growth. Hear from some of the organizations working to close the skills gap, their success stories and how you can get involved.

Where do skill gaps exist? How can we improve access to job training and opportunities? Who is getting left behind in the competition for talent? We'll look at these questions and more, as well as allow time for audience Q&A.

Speakers will include:

  • Dick Weiss, Founder, WeissWrite, & Story Catalyst for Forward Through Ferguson (Moderator)
  • Drew Pack, Senior Community Development Specialist, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis
  • Greg Laposa, Vice President Education Strategies, St. Louis Regional Chamber
  • Norma Clayton, Vice President for Learning, Training & Development, The Boeing Company
  • Genevieve Friedmann, LMSW, Program Manager, Women's Economic Stability Partnership (WESP), YWCA Metro St. Louis
  • Trina Dyan Clark James, Regional Director, NPower
  • Additional speakers TBA.

This event is free to attend and open to all, but advance registration is requested.
